we have a 1085, that after sitting for a long period has been fired up..we have no steering what so ever..we filled up the pump while idling and waited patiently for it to bleed out..nothing, there is no stop on the wheel at all, it will spin indefinitely. Has anyone else experienced this or knows what is going on..thanks!

Try cleaning the fluid strainer/filter. If it gets clogged up your steering wheel will just free-wheel like you describe. We had this problem....there was some kind of gunk that just totally clogged the filter. If I remember right, you take off the reservoir and it is inside.

Sounds like the pump isnt working take the pressure line off start it see if any oil is pumped. Check engine oil to see if oil form pump is going in crankcase.

Thanks for response..we cracked the line and pump is pumping, also oil level is not dropping, so assuming no leak into crank, kind of thinking that maybe it is high up by wheel with an air lock! still have not got it going..
