not mechanically inclined the least bit.the injector pump was leaking around the screw that holds the throttle linkage. it looked like a pretty simple fix so i went and got new o-rings.
removed the cover replaced the o-rings and new cover gask. then of coarse wouldnt start so i decided to bleed the air from the lines which i was told that i wouldnt have to do. still wont start ,not sure if i even bled them right , followed the oper. manuel im totally lost any help would be greatly apprecieated

Hi,
First of all, are you sure you reconnected the linkage inside the cover as it was before? If all is OK there. Starting at the tank, there is a nylon filter sitting on the tap inside the tank. This clogs regularly if there is rubbish moving around inside the tank. Check this first. If your lift (priming) pump has a glass bowl, there is a brass gauze on top of it. This also blocks. If that's OK go to the filters. There are two 5/16 unf screws on the outside of the pump. With these open and pumping the primer you should have anything between a healthy 'dribble' and a good squirt. Remember to keep clear just in case you get the latter. If you have good flow here, the next step is to slacken one of the pipes at the injectors. It's a bit of a fiddle or alternatively you can do the same at the pump end. Do 2 if you can. Turn the engine over and you should see bubbles and then fuel passing the nut. Tighten when you have a healthy flow. Some engines start quickly, others take a lot of turning over. Is your cranking speed OK?
Even though it seemed OK we have had cases where the speed was not good enough to start. A short tow which turns the engine slightly faster was all that was needed to start the first time.
Hold the throttle fully open and turn the engine on the key. Listen for the pump to start 'clicking'. That's a sign that it's about to start and with a bit of luck and a good battery it will burst into life.
Cheers
DavidP
