Someone asked me about parts for a Massey Chapparel a while back. I "drug" one home on Thursday, the hood is toast but has a great track, complete engine, drive, lots of good parts, that makes 5 Ski whiz and a Chapparel in the barn..shout if you need anything (this isn't an ad, I am only trying to find the person who asked me for some parts that are extremely hard to find anymore)...Mike in Exeter Ontario

I am making no claim that the two are the same, however these were both Built by Massey Ferguson and many of the under carriage parts are the same, bogey wheels, tracks, tensioners, since I am offering the Chaparrel as a parts source I am not in error. There was a snowmobile company that made "Chapparel" machines tm and they were I believe totally separate from Massey Ferguson. My offering is a Massey Ferguson Chapparel

Michael,

Massey did not manufacture or have any connection to Chapperal. The track and drive sprockets for most [but not all] early Masseys and Chappys were made by Gates Rubber Co. and the bogie wheels were made by Capitol Stamping. That is the only common connection between the two different brands. I only post this to prevent mis-information from starting.[ The internet is very effective at spreading incorrect info.] Massey parts may fit a Chapparal, but not all will. Many aftermarket track listings say all 15" Massey tracks are the same, but they are not. Anyone needing help finding track info can contact me at: [email protected]
