Top Valve Lubricant for sticking valves?

The TEA20 has proven very useful around a garden. Now if I could only get it to stop that distressing sputtering, dropping down to one or two cylinders soon after start-up, then gradually getting all four going as it warms up.

Seems to me there was something like Bardall, a "top valve lubricant" in the sixties. If the Fergie's valves are sticking, is there any simple way to improve things a little?

Ive used "sea foam" to loosen sticky valves acts as upper valve lube and carbon cleaner either puts some in tank or as i have sucked some through the carb by a vaccum hose until chokes up a lil abd blows some white smoke, comes in a tall pint can. also used "essential lube" also

Marvel Mystery Oil added to gas and oil should help. Red plastic container most auto and wally world. Solvent, been around for years.

Other thing you could do would be to get some diesel in it.

When I was a kid, we had engines all stuck up like that in cars and would pour diesel down the carb till they choked....then paused, let them blow it out (white smoke), get their breath, and do it again 3 or 4 times. Then let them sit for an hour. Cranked them up and did it again. Then after cooling a bit, pulled the plugs and cleaned them. Worked real good.....that was back in the days of leaded gas where lead would clog up the valve stems and seats.

An updraft carb on a tractor is a bit trickier, but you can figure something out similar. Put some diesel in a squirt bottle and remove the air cleaner. Squirt it in till it does as I used to do.

Used to use brake fluid to free up sticking valves.Pour it through the carburetor.Something about the brake fluid that cleans the valve stems.
