The differential lock pedal on my diesel 220 doesn't move...hasn't moved since I got the tractor actually. I'm assuming that something's "not right" inside. Anyone have any ideas? Is it possible that it's something simple? Does the type of Trans/hyd fluid have anything to do with it? The guy gave me a partial can of Deere Hy-Gard oil for it...I can only assume that's what he put in it. Your collective advice is requested.....

I bought a used Japanese built tractor with the same problem. The shaft had frozen up from disuse and it took a while with "p-blaster" (penetrant) and tapping gently with a hammer to get it to budge, then another long while, carefully moving it a little farther at a time 'til I finally got it working freely. Probably an hour total over a two-day period, soaking it and working with it. Hopefully, this is all that's wrong with yours.
