Just bought what i believe is a 102 senior standard. The only problem is the serial number does not match. The plate on the side of the frame says 102ss. The serial number is 360160. The number stamped on top of the tranny is 360160. The book i got shows the 102 serial number starting at 365xxx. Any ideas out there. Thanks Tractor Rod

Originally, the 101/102 designations differentiated between gas and distillate fuel models. Later in production, exported tractors (sent to Canada and elsewhere) were badged as 102's, even though they were gas 101's still in the states. I think Canadian 102's followed in with the 101 serial numbers in '44. Not 100% sure about that numbering system but the gas/distillate part is correct. Do you live in Canada?

According to the "Massey Tractor Data Book", you have a 1944 101 senior standard. 1469 built.

Mike that is the problem we are having. On the serial plate it is clearly stamped 102SS. But according to the serial number it is suppose to be a 101 senior. It has the continetal 226 cubic inch motor.I do not know were the tractor originally came from but it is in MN right now. Thanks in advance. Tractor Rod
