Was changing antifreeze after a stuck thermostat and was letting it run to cycle the new coolant and after about 20 Min I was back by the draft controls and noticed that the side of the trans by the footboard was hot enough that you couldnt hold you hand on it for fear of being burned .....is this normal ? my fluid is at max ..... ...HMMMMM MM any suggestions or experience of this?
Thanks

If the three point linkage is out of adjustment where the pump goes in to constant pumping when the three point is raised up all the way the relief valve will be open all the time causing the oil to get extremely hot quick. It is located right inside of where you said your was getting hot. That is about the only thing I know of that would cause one to get that hot that quick just setting there idling.
