I have a mf 300 that wont pick up full pressure in the transmission. it normally runs about 135 psi and works fine but occasionally it drops pressure to 40 psi and wont push. the oil temp and levels are all fine. I am going to change the oil and I am wondering what weight oil I should be using and if there are any filters to replace?

Look in the owners book or talk with a dealer because...

MF use a cetain type of fluid in the transaxle. Then make sure the fluid matches that spec. I have found that I can get the correct fluid at Sam's Club. They have it by the 5gal and 55gal containers. Any farm supply should also have the correct fluid. It is more hydraulic fluid than gear oil since the 3point pump pulls fluid from belly of the tractor.

Just make sure it meets the MF number and you will be fine.
