MF275 Radiator with cooler

I have a MF275-1979, Ser# : 9A 315697;
The radiator (579337M91-Long/Canada)has a cooler for the steering pump; the cooler has exploded twice in the last 5 years;
1- Why ?
2- MF275 Ser# prior to 266365 haven't the cooler; could I just by-pass the cooler and plug the cooler's inlet/outlet ? I noted also that my MF1085-1976 has no cooler in the radiator.
3- Is replacement radiator #A579339M91-Clancy/Ireland, equivalent to -579337M91 ?

Rodger, Did you find out why the radiator blew? I have a 255, same deal, I have to change the radiator for 2nd time in 5 years.

I can't help with the parts numbers, as I only have a MF-690 Parts Manual. However, if you do bypass the cooler inside the radiator, you will need to buy an external one to mount in front of the radiator to take its place. If not you will be risking overheating of the power steering fluid and the resultant pump failure. They engineered the cooler for a purpose.
