My 1959 mf65 has a Paulson trip bucket loader. When I lower it with load in it, it just drops fast till I release the lever. No matter how carefully I feather the hydro. lever it free falls till I release. I have one way cylinders and am using one of the factory levers in front of the seat.

Do you have a fast / slow response lever beside your tranny dipstick like the 135? If so, the slow setting slows downward travel remarkedly.

Hi Tom,
At least it shows that you have no restriction in the return line. A simple answer would be to fit a male/female hydraulic fitting in the line between your control valve and the point where the you have a 'T' to go to each ram. Have a local machine shop machine a plug probably in brass which can be pressed into the hyd fitting.
It will be a bit of trial and error. Have them drill a hole in the plug starting at perhaps 1/32nd and try it. It should not affect the loader going up too much but it will certainly slow it coming down. You may need to increase the hole size if you find it too slow to achieve an acceptable laden drop.

Cheers
DavidP

Thanks David, sounds like a easy fix. Nice to know it is nothing serious.
