Hi,

We are in need of a A3.152 oil strainer assembly, and tubes of available. It is the old style, that is bolted on the bottom of the pan..

Thanks in advance

Will

Hi Big Dean,
We have quite a few break at the point where the stay bracket is brazed to the pipe, never resulted in engine failure only low oil pressure. Every 35 and 135 that we have overhauled has had the new type fitted with the rubber grommet etc as a safety precaution. Cheaper than another rebuild.
Regards
DavidP

You should order from MF. There was a modification made to the original design which was prone to cracking at a weld due to engine vibration the pickup tube broke off above the engine oil level. We all know what happens to engines that don't get oil!!! I think the same strainer, grommet, tube(s) and olives could be used on the A3-152

A friend of mine just rebuilt one of these engines in the last month. He used the parts mentioned. Let me find out for you. I will repost. It may be that the parts for the AD.152 interchange with the A.152and the parts guy at the dealer didn't pick up on it.

Strainer and tube assembly same as AD3.152. MF nolonger sells the original tube with the welded bracket. Replacement part is a tube with a rubberlinned bracket and clip that bolts under

Hi,

So, does this mean that one from a MF 135 will work? And do the bolt in the bottom of the pan?

Thanks,

Sorry for all the questions.

Will

Yes, if they want a serial # explain what you need and choose an early production date (1966)My parts book (1974) shows 3 different pickups there may only be 1 now.
