I have a MF 1135 that is undergoing restoration. It has the folowing problems with the hydraulic system, can anyone help???
Power steering, very lumpy, sometimes no power steering, will very occasionally work ok. No action at the 3 pt linkage, multipower works ok, as does the PTO clutch. The spools pressurise no problem, not pressure tested though.
Wondering what can affect power steering and 3 point linkage. I have owned the tractor for 2 years, its stood until now. I bought it with these problems.
I have also stripped down the front axle as the is masses of wear in the front axle pivot, the bush only remains 1mm thick!
I have stripped of the bracket that holds the track rods on, revealing that the bush/bearing in the bottom of the steering box is well worn, what can be done to help this?

Any info or help/comments on restoring this tractor would be very helpful.

Many Thanks

Henry

There is also a metal hyd strainer under the belly, you have to remove a plate past the clutch
area. It has a drain plug in the center and about
6-8 screws around the plate, ther are 3 drain plugs you need to remove to drain the system. the
fluid may look clear on a dipstick but drain some in a glass, if its brown or yellow then youll need
17 galions to replace it, 5 gallons cant be drained and remains inside. If that dont fix the 3 point email me, i will try
to help further.

Check hydraulic fluid is full on dipstick while tractor is on level ground. Check hydraulic filter in grill in front of radiator for metal particles. If there is a lot of metal in the filter, you might want to find another tractor and start over. Repairs to the rear end planetaries and the hydraulic system on the 1135 can get real expensive. If the hydraulic fluid is clean and full the 3 point hitch just may need some linkage adjustment through the plate behind your feet when sitting on the drivers seat.
