I bought a used 250 a few years ago and recently noticed that the bracket holding the loader to the tractor is loose. I noted that several of the bolts that went into the engine have broken off part of the nipple that was tapped on the engine. ASeveral people have suggested that I might be able to split the tractor and have metal welded on and retapped for new bolts. This sounds expensive and complicatted. Does anyone know if this will work. also, does anyone know of an aftermarket bracket I could get to put around the engine to hold the loader bracket

Jim that problem is usually caused by the bolts working loose they need to be check regularly. We had quite a few of those with holes broke out of the transmission in our shop the only way I could every make them hold was to replace the transmission housing when the holes were broke out the transmission housing. I tried about everything I could think of I tried to having them built up by a certified welder but weld no the malable cast casting always broke off. The transmission housing from an old MF100 series tractor will work in the MF250.
