I just purchased a massy Ferg T020 tractor and I was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of hydralic fluid it takes, how many Quarts? Also wondering if there is an internal oil filter for the engine and where is it located?

Welcome, to be specific the TO-20 is a Ferguson, There is a MF-20 which is a different tractor. But to answer your questions...

The Rear end Fluid should be 90 wt. mineral oil. This is oil specification G-1. Do not use GL-3,-4 or -5 oils. The oil is most easily available at NAPA Stores and is PN# 65-205. Call ahead, as this in not a normally stocked item but can be retreived from the reagional werehouses within a day or two. NAPA cost is ~ $25.00 / 5 gallon bucket (Sep 2004 price)

The oil is also MF Spec. 1103. MF dealer sells for ~$38/5 gal.

The transmission/Hydraulics is one system and takes 6 gallons.... 24 quarts.

There is an oil filter in the engine. It is located in the oil pan. (Access plate is at the bottom and the drain plug screws into the panel.

NAPA also has the correct oil filters... although I forget the number right now, but they are in their reference books at the stores.

If you are thinking about cleaning out the rear end fluids, do an archive search on "Cleaning procedure" and it will tell you how to do it.

Jeff
