I have a MF165,and have troubles with clutch engagment.I have followed the adjustment steps and still have a chattering when applying the clutch peddle and no clutching.Could the release bearing be stuck. The hydraulic function for the 3 point also seems affected. Am I looking at clutch or hydraulic?

Hi Dale
There are plenty of postings on clutches on this forum.
But I struck a clutch problem most miss, that is the thrust whashers in the motor had not been replaced when the motor was overhauled, they where worn that bad they fell out! the front two halves where in the sump and the back halves where caught up inside the rear seal housing.
By using a tyre/tire lever or similar to move the crankshaft back and forwards to check the end float. Goodluck and Cheers Arthur from Tassy
