Will the power steering pump overhaul kit I see for sale for about $68.00 repair a weak pump or does the pump usally have wear in the body making pump replacement necassary? I cannot find a list of parts that the overhaul kits contain. I am working on a Massey Ferguson 2135 tractor and I just replaced both assist cylinders but the steering still seems weak, no assist at complete stop but ok if tractor is moving and at full throttle. Thanks,

Rocky

Hi Rocky I have found that most of the time the pump body is wore worse than the gears and the kits usually did not help at all or only for a short time now and then I have found one that I could rebuild and it would last. That has been my experience with them.

Rocky..Have you checked the pressure from the pump. I had a MF204 and replaced the pump. It turns out the control valve on the steering column was worn out. There is also a relief valve inside the reservoir may it could be tweaked Pressure is supposed to be 1100 to 1200 lbs
