My father in-law just bought a MF65 gas. it has the 3pt hitch that uses 2 leaves to the right of the seat(1st raises, 2nd is drift). I'm looking for some basic instructions on how to operate the raising lowering of the 3pt hitch.

I know the tractor has to be running to get it to raise/lower. does it have to be in gear, clutch down, does the tractor have to be moving? is there a hidden control we are missing. Currently the arms are up, and we can't get them down

also on the right side of the gearbox oposite side of the PTO lever but same location as PTO there is a lever that moves 180 degrees (but the gearbox dipstick is in the way of the full movement). What is this lever used for?

put your draft levers about half way and the 3pt should go down when you lower them with the out side lever the lever on the right is the axle lock for the rear

If it"s the lever on the side of the housing near the dipstick I believe it controls the speed of the response speed of the hydraulic system.

Ok, thanks for the help.

I ended up going to see a wonderful guy by the name of jack out in Gore Bay Ontario.

He seemed to know his stuff. and it looks like the lever on the round access cover is an addon that the last owner rigged up when the real hydrolic controls stopped working. the addon external lever just moved the internal pump lever to the on/off position(he bypassed the real controls in favor of a sidemounted lever).

Anyways turns out we have to take the top of the housing off and see where the hydrolic control linkage is broken or missing. That should be fun.

Oh and I found out the fun way where the external hydrolic pump connects to the housing. Damn that sure is under a lot of pressure. when the seals popped I was covered in hydrolic gear lube

thanks phill Allen
