i have checked the archives and looked at every 44 here. haven't seen one with this type of front wheel.

anybody recognize it? i see some 4's , 6's and d's on this model. how many were made, what is the most common and can you tell what this is? hp, other info?

fella has offered this tractor to me at a pretty fair price. is it worth a look?

i have a very nice ih 606 now and don't really need it but if it's a deal.....

thanx for any help in advance

Single front wheel is better when driving thru mud the regular narrow front wheels would ball up in mud and you would be pushing a big pile with them

Single fronts were mainly used in vegetable production where the rows were very close and in areas where furrow irrigation was used. The single wheel didn't destroy the ridges or beds of either cropping practice.

The single front wheel is harder to steer and is more prone to sink in soft or wet soil. They never were as popular as the standarsd and the narrow front models with two front wheels.

But if you have a use for it, get it if the price is right and it runs good.
