Had my left foot on lots of clutch pedals.

Recently purchased a MF 35, live PTO and the leg pressure required to work the clutch is much more than any clutch I can recall. Everything works as designed including where both clutches engagae and release.

Kinda feels like somebody put in 2x the strength springs on the pp that thay should have.

Got any Ideas?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Dean,
Kirk C from Alton Kansas,
My 1155 is a sweet machine,
But to shift gear,s I have to lean forward to pull the lever,s down, ("short lever,s")
Did Massey do this intentionally,?
Or did they just wanna have a gated pattern that would work simple?
Kirk C,

Mark , Go to search and put in clutch plate. And massey forum. Read number 94. It explains the extra springs in some clutches like big Dean says. BARECO has pictures and tables of the springs required for different models. Ray-s

Mark the two stage pressure plate assembly for tractors up through the MF1085 will bolt right in place on the MF35 the bigger tractors had stronger spring in them it is not uncommon to get a MF35 that has had one of those pressure plate assemblies install in them I have run across that several times I suspect that is what you have
