The 101 and 102 senior's used six cylinder continental built engines. The models 101 and super 101 used Chrysler industrial engines. On the Chrysler engines the distributor is on the LH side of the engine. On the continentail engines the distributor is on the top.The tractor is a 1945 101 senior row-crop model from the serial number you posted.

The F400 series of engines were 4-cylinder Continentals so you don't have a Super unless somebody dropped in a transplant. You might have a 101/102 Junior if the front frame is cast iron. If it is channel iron, then you have an 81/82/20/22 model (assuming it is original).

So what model engine number does it have? There is a casting # on the right front corner of the block F600A629. As I get more grease and crap blown off this pig I'm finding more #'s

If its a super 101 it will have a 6 cylinder cysler engine in it. The dist. wil be on the side of the engine. If the dist. come out the top of the engine its probably a SR 101. I have one that says super but its not a super but a SR.

From the ser# you gave it should be a 1945 Senior row-crop. which would have the Chrysler Industrial engine.

It appears that you have a 1945 "101" Senior with a continental engine. I have a new water pump to fit your engine if that is truly what you have. There are a couple of different water pumps, one has a steel pulley that attaches with the fan to the hub the other has a cast iron pulley pressed directly to the pump shaft. Some 226 continentals in other applications use a removable pump core similar to the 4 cylinder continentals.
