I have an early model 240 Massey. Power steering did not work when I got it. I put a new pump on the tractor and one steering cylinder (old cylinder was leaking). Steering worked great for a week. Now fluid gets so hot that pump and lines get too hot to touch and steering gets weaker as it gets hotter, I aso replaced hydraulic lines, thinking maybe one was collapsing inside. Still have problem. Any suggestions?

When you generate heat in a hydraulic system it is because you are reducing pressure across an leak internally. As the system begins to heat up feel the lines as they enter the cylinders, steering valve and pump. The cylinder(s) may be leaking past the piston head packing or the valve may have lost some sealing device internally or the pump relief is partially stuck open. As the oil gets hot it get thinner(viscosity) so it leaks faster internally and your power steering gets weaker.
