V8's won't lug. They've got to be revving and keep revving. I did a few rounds on a 2805, hit a wet hole and it just about died.
OK for combines and cars where loads are very steady, but when you hit a tough patch, an i-6 will get you through in a lot better shape than a V-8.

I don"t know the answer but I am anxious to hear what Big Dean and others have to say. I own 2 of them- a 2775 that is wore out (640cu. no turbo) but still pulls like a bulldozer and an 860 combine that is fresh (540 cu. no turbo) and runs unbelieveably great. The 2775 starts as hard as an oceanliner and smokes like one but is very powerful. I also own a 1105 6 cyl. turbo which is the only one of the three I don"t worry about!
