I have a two axle (3500# each) trailer that I use to move my tractors (mf65 dieselmatic and IH240 utility) with. The trailer weighs about 1400# so the combination of tractor and trailer pushed the limits of my class 3 hitch (6000 trailer/500 tongue) a little. The receiver was rated higher. But with careful placement of the tractor on the trailer and secure chaining no problem. Just be careful to keep tight turns to a minimum and give yourself plenty of room to stop along with keeping your speed reasonable. I've used both an F150 and a F250 super duty to pull with. Just had to be sure to stay out of overdrive with the F150. One thing I'm short on is trailer brakes. Having electric trailer brakes on at least one axle would be a big plus on the safety side. A standard bumper hitch type double axle trailer with brakes on at least one axle has 7,000 lbs gross weight (two 3500 lb axles). You don't want any less than that, no matter what the tractor weighs. It probably won't be the only tractor you will haul with that trailer.
