just curious here. i have a 53 mh 44. right now it has 30" cast hubs on the rear. the rims lock onto it with wedge bolts.i was wondering if there is a relatively low cost or easy way to convert this set up to regular 8 or 9 bolt hubs and steel center wheels.

If you have 30" rears, your 44 is a standard. Axle shafts from a 9 bolt hub row crop are longer. You
need axle sleeves, 38" rims, RC fenders, the clamp hubs. Those big fenders on 30" wheels do
not conform well with 38" wheels. Since standards have a fixed width front axle, the nose will sit low on your 44. The only quick solution for that,
is purchase a row crop pedestal assembly. The 44
will look more formidable, but that is a lot of swap out on parts, then having decent 13.6-38 tires available. Good luck.

Easiest it probably swapping the axles. There are lots of 44 row crops around that would be good donors. I"ve got a couple here in eastern WI if that helps.
