I'm working on an 1130 which is using 1 gallon of oil per hour on the dyno. Ran a compression & runs 170-300 psi. Injectors all checked out. Turbo was replaced last fall for this problem & had oil deposits on both the intake & exhaust side. Sent turbo to the repair shop & had it checked out, replaced seals & double checked the wheel balance. Today, I put the tractor on the dyno to get it up to temp & clean some of the crud out. Tractor runs great, starts fine, has a little smoke at first and clears once up to temp, also has very little blowby. Everything looked great until I pulled the dipstick, It took 2 1/2 gals of oil to put it onto the full mark after 2+ hours under rated load on the dyno. I added oil and went exactly 1 more hour and the tractor used exactly 1 gal of oil. Also, I have looked into the plugs at the front of the intake and see no sign of oil wetness at the turbo now. Tractor is running 125HP. Any suggestions hopefully short of an overhaul. I did talk to another mechanic which mentioned something about the remote possibility of oil going past a seal in the auxilary drive are into the injection pump. Has anyone ever heard of this. I have experienced fuel going out of the injection pump via the aux. drive into the crankcase. Any & all ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible for to pump oil past the injection pump seal, happens when you change from the older engine block without a hydraulic loaded pump drive gear to one with the hydraulic loaded gear. If this is happening the oil will be in the fuel tank. This is covered in the Perkins shop manual. I found this out the hard way.

One other tibit to this story. After the turbo change last fall, we found intake tube above the air cleaner completely plugged with bird"s nest. Tractor had not been worked under load, just used on loader moving round bales & choring all winter.
