Found a beautiful Ferguson at a car dealer in Montreal, Says he took it on a trade in... Seems like a to-20 or a tea 20?? don't know the diff. It is in fine shape and it seemingly has a aluminum hood/bonnet and a 4 speed . He wanted 1500 CDN i offered 1000. Is this a good deal? is it rare.what should it be wort US$$ it is original grey. Robert, most of Fergy 20 in Quebec are TEA 20; not much TO-20 there.
TEA(UK) have Standard engines, oil filler tube is above starter. For the Continental Z120 in firsts TE-20(UK) and TO-20(USA), the oil filler tube is near front of engine.
There is two TEA-20, the 20-80 and the 20-85, that is 80 mm nore and 85 mm bore; 20-80 engine has its water pump bolted to engine block, 20-85 engine has its water pump bolted to engine head.
Apparently the difference between TO-20 and TE-20/TEA-20 is the trany case, TO is in CAST iron, for the others, its made from aluminum alloy(experts, correct me if wrong for TO TE difference)
At 1500 CDN$, its good deal, send me a e-mail for more info

The value depends on what kind of mechanical shape it is in. Does it start ez and run well? Oil pressure good? Clutch good? 3pt and hydraulics work well? Pto works well? Good Brakes? Good rubber? Radiator coolant clean? Charging system works well? Paint and sheet metal sound good from your description. If it's good mechanically and you get it for $1000 Canadian, I'd say you got a darn good deal. Even $1500 C sounds good to me if it's a good machine. Some of your fellow Canadians ought to weigh in on this because price tend to vary by region.

The TO-20 and the TO-30 both have 4 spd transmissions (so does the 8N). The -20 uses the Continental Z120 engine and the -30 uses the bigger Z129. Don't know anything about aluminum sheet metal however. I never heard of them using Aluminum but I'm no expert. You might trythe Ferguson Forum on this site.
