A reader wrote in to my Q&A page in Farm &
Ranch Living. He says that the controls are too "short and strange" on the 1100"s series tractors even with the seat all the way forward!

Anyone know what he"s talking about?

Rusty

The only thing I could think of is if he's used to a shifter that's 2 1/2 ft. long vs what the massey's have slghtly lower from the seat and 1ft. long, making it a much tighter shift pattern. I on the other hand have no problems going between my Massey's (285, 165)and Ollie's(1855, restoring my 1600, ans a blown engine on our 1755). Donovan from Wisconsin
