I have a 1963 MF 65 dieselmatic multipower, the multi-power is not hooked up. The shift lever for the gears is jammed and will not move. It was stuck in 1st gear. In the past, thanks to info from Big Dean , I would remove the plug and use a bar to shift the big gear in the right direction until I felt it snap into the indent. I tried doing this but could not feel the indent. It can be shifted into 1st or reverse with the bar and can also be moved into neutral but the shift lever remains stuck. Also when I removed the plug I noticed that a hydraulic hose inside the trans was detached which I repaired. Any suggestions appreciated. thanks

The way you have described what is happening when you move the big gear that you cannot feel the detent and with the gear in neutral position you still can not move the shift lever that is a pretty good sign you have a broke shift fork for the first and reverse gear. Hope this Helps Big Dean
