Anyone have the part number for the lower radiator hose for the MF-35 Diesel, Perkins Eng. 3 cyl? Are there two different end sizes on the hose? Any help appreciated..... ..... ...

The correct hose is 186968M1. Fits 35, 135, some later models. It's the same size on both ends.

And I make 2 top hoses from one of those - cheaper than buying two top hoses from my present supplier. Might be 1 1/4 ID, not sure on that.

The early UK Perkins models (59 MF Coventry parts catalog) had 2 straight lower hoses with a metal elbow in between (hoses p/n 828147M1, straight sections about 4" long). The 186968M1 one-piece hose replaced that.

180783M1 is for the continental gas engined 35 and 135.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Jack, you're correct. After looking more closely at the radiator, I cannot tell just what it is off of. It does not match or look like any of the radiators on any of the websites. Someone has changed radiators at some point and time. That is why the hose connection point is much smaller than at the water pump. Will have to improvise. There is not even a connection for the radiator stabilizer rod, anywhere on the radiator. They depended on the stability of the hoses to stabilize the radiator. The rod is still attached to the water pump. Thanks to all of you for your help..... ..... .....

Years ago I used a Massey Harris 30 to run a planer. The wood chips were bad for the radiator, so I used a series of rads off Chrysler slant sixes. The first was from a '63 Valiant and the next from the same model a few years later. Cheap at a junk yard at the time, they fitted better than the original: you just had to sweat the side shields off them and turn them over.

My book shows 180 783 M1 hose, radiator, lower.

The book was printed in late 1960 in the U.S.A. so it may be for the U.S. model, though the top hose looks like the one I changed on my British 1961 model. It had a constant diameter, but proved miserable thing to get on.

Rod, Good point, my StevensAg Parts catalog shows the U. S. model with number 180 783 M1. Looking at the picture, it appears to have two different sizes on each end. Sodbuster, if yours was not manufactured in Coventry, England (Check your serial number tag) you probably need the part number that Rod has suggested. I guess my manual is for the English model, which is what I have. C. T. p.s. Sodbuster, sorry for the confusion.

Mine was made in Coventry England. Don't think the 180783M1 will work. Found photo and dimensions on another site. Shows the hose as 10.75 inches long. Does look like two different inside diameters. The 186968M1 looks like the hose, shape etc.. Have already ordered it. Will soon know. Evidentally, there are differences in the US and English made Fergusons. Thanks again.

Now that I recall, my MF dealer showed two hoses for the top, one 3 1/2" and the other about 10 1/2" in length. Both were listed as correct for the British, Perkins, 35. Both cost a bit over $14.00 CDN. The long one was clearly too long, so I took the short one. It was too short. So I went back and bought the long one, then cut the 5 1/2" I needed out of it and installed it.

I think it's just 1 5/8" straight hose. From the illustration in my manual it looks as though the bottom hose has a slight bend in it, but on my machine it's just a piece of stock hose. If the one you ordered is too long, cut it off to fit.

Good luck stretching it onto your radiator, though maybe there's more room down below.
