I wish i could find a massey club that was out here in kansas,
nothing to speak of at the moment?
Im a perkin,s V8 freak, have been since i saw the 1st one at Tulare farm show in Ca in 1977,
I dont care if I do anything with it I just like to drive it around and listen to that sweet 540 or 640 Perkin,s V8,
thank God for sweet tractor,s like these massey,s.

From about 1980 to 1995 I had an 1155 MF tractor.Your comments have me reminiscing;putting the chisel plow in the ground, then push that big throttle ahead and listen to that V8 run up against the load. Still runs shivers up my spine. Neighbor has an 1150 on permanent wood splitter duty. You're gonna make me go talk to him.

I know what you mean because i owned one in the 80s and there isn't a sweeter sound than that v-8.Some of the smart comments are evidently coming from people who don't know.

You need to find a girl friend and sober up on the tractor gig.

these big expensive new combines are a joke. give me a 760 v8 ,gear drive. i can combine just as much and still have enough money left over to farm next year.

I wish what you said about the old MF combines were true..

we finally have made ours a hangar queen---keeping her for sentimental value only as it is worn out and parts are hard to justify price wise.
We ran them as long as possible and finnaly got something else ---the newer stuff can out work it sorry to say--- BUT NOTHING 10yrs newer will I know that ! :)
its funny that a 200hp 860 can even keep up with these 300+ things today. we own a 760 that in 95 was picking round for round with a 1666 CIH, only because they were driving over stuff LOL where they beat our masseys is unloading and turning.

well and fatigue at the end of a day.

we have had 2-760s and an 860 and several 750s and an 850...

I saw an 860 (1985) for 3,000 last week. if I had shed space...
