I have a MF88 that is really spraying out the fluid underneath the tractor below the pedals. There is an opening there and when the tractor is running it"s spraying the fluid out in a hurry. Any suggestions as to where it may be leaking? I just picked this tractor up pretty cheap and am hoping this is not going to be a major expense or else I may be selling it real cheap!
The previous owner bought it as a resale tractor and said it was not leaking when he bought it and that he heard something "pop" after he started it when it was cold out. Since then it has gushed fluid while running.

88, the opening is an access plate between the clutch and front of transmission. There are 2 rubber hydraulic lines on the front of transmission cover. These circulate fluid from the transmission to the PS filter and the steering head in front of radiator. I suspect you have a split in one of the rubber lines. This is not a hard fix, but you will need to split the middle.

By "split the middle" do you mean seperating the front of the tractor from the rear just behind the shift lever?
How do you support the halves when seperating?

Thanks for the responses.

best is to block front up {make sure you put wegges in thet fromt bettween front axle and frame so the front half will not tip side to side .}the back half use a good floor jack that half is not real heavy pull all the stuff off and all bolts out and roll back half away. it's not hard at all
