Just acquired a yellow diesel MF 30B w/front loader but no PTO shaft. Wondering how difficult & costly it'll be to get a PTO shaft and assembly(?) working in this beast? There's just a factory plate w/four bolts on the diff/case right now where the PTO shaft should be. Also need year made and HP info and source for a manual. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Steve

Hello Steve -

Probably has the Perkins AD3 152 3 cyl diesel, rated by MF at 48 bhp, 42 PTO.

There are a number of different trans configurations. If you have a 2-stage clutch, you can have a live PTO and 3-point lift. The 3-point and PTO on the automatic (identified by the f - r pedal on the right) work only when you're in motion. If you let me know which trans you have, I may be able to help further.

Jack, Thanks for the info!
I'll be picking up this beast tomorrow. But I remember it has the F-R pedal on the right so it must be the automatic. It has the 3 point lift arms including the top one. AND a remote hydrolic setup (to the right/rear of drivers seat by top of rear wheel fender) for maybe backhowe attachment? (don't have one but would like to find one!) I'll have more info once it's in my barn! Steve in CO
