My brother-in-law has a MF165 Diesel. It has had some blow-by right along but, last week all of a sudden it started pushing a lot of smoke out of the blow-by tube. So much so that it is also pushing oil out of the blow-by tube. It still runs good and has good power. I already looked in the archives and did a search but didn"t find anything. If anyone has any ideas what would cause this, please let me know. Thanks Gene

My 65 D was doing the same thing when I bought it. Turned out to be a blown head gasket between the 2nd cylinder and the oil return passage from the head.

I rebuilt a engine that did the same thing once. What I found out was the rist pin bushing was so worn out that the piston would be movind around alot as it was traveling up and down in the cylinder wall causeing oil to blow by. The engine ran fine and did have power, but like you said the blow by was coming out of the tube alot. So much that if you would leave the tractor running in one spot for a while there would be a puddle of oil on the ground under the tube.
