After getting a 1959 MF65 gas model, I have discovered that parts are not as availible for it as with other models of that era. Are the 65's just not as popular, more rare, or what? It seems it may be the "bastard" model. I am in process of doing a minor restore, this will be a working tractor, but am wondering if it would be better to get another model. The more I work on this thing the more I like it, just wondering what the "Massey" people think about them? Will they say "neat ole tractor" or "this guy should have done his homework".

I hope its not a "bastard" model, I just bought one also, although this has the perkins diesel and multipower.

That is just my point, this is a very good tractor, just can't see why there isn't more interest in this model. Maybe it isn't old enough yet. I do wonder with just a bit over 10k units in 1959 how many are still out there working. TomTx where are you located? I have been looking for some local auctions and stuff, know of any? I am in the Austin area.

Craig, I live just West of Fort Worth outside the town of Weatherford. There is an auction held in Grandbury about 3 or 4 times per year at a place called Johnson Brothers. There is a big auction the first Thursday of every month at Seymour, the net address is www.montgomerytractor.com. There are other auctions around, just can't think of them now. Keep in touch.
Tom

Hey Craig, if you want to get rid of that MF65 gas, just tell me where you live. That is a very good tractor model. Also, diesel would be better, but there are some advantages to gas for an old tractor. Easy to work on. Not complicated. Easy to start.
