Hi Studie - I have an uncle who worked at the Studebaker plant in Hamilton Ont.in the early fifties. He gave my grandparents a model (factory) of an early '50's car. It's tan in colour(plastic body with metal running gear). If I remember right, they bought the next model after Studebaker switched from that body style. Just wondering if it would have much value and whether to sell it or not ? BTW, my uncle always maintained that the Lark was years ahead of the competition.

Hi,Ihave a good idea of which car you are talking about, without seeing it anything iwould say would be an unfair guess.but easily 75- 125$if its good.
I suggest going on the ebay site and punching in"studebaker",that will show you all kinds of parts,lit.memoribilia,etc.always has many models, promo.cars on there for you to look at and get a better idea of what you have.
As far as the Lark goes,it was Studebakers savior for a couple of years.A good little car, very economical, and still fun to drive! How [long]did it take the BIG3 to "make" a car that got 25mi.per gal.?? Studie did it 45 yrs. ago with a carburated,v8 powered car!Ihad a 13 year old Lark in high school with a 4barrel,v8,automatic that would get 22mpg.all the time.
But,unfortunately, lots of factors in the demise of a good car and truck builder.BTW I have 3 Studie trucks on the farm,a 60Hawk and a 63Avanti,pride of the fleet being my 63stub-nosed diesel grain truck with 68000 original miles!
So,yeah,guess Iam a Studebaker man.
Hope Ididn`t ramble too much, and hope some of this info helps you out, have a good day!

Thanks STUDIE !! I've always wondered about that particular car model. It was never "played with" by any kids so is in good shape.
The local Studebaker/Case dealer kept his last Lark, with his wife , then his son driving it after his death. The car is still owned locally but only driven in good weather now. Once again , thankyou for the info and I will investigate Ebay. Jim
