A friend has a 1945 massey harris tractor.Cleaned the tractor to get all the serial# off.Has no twin power or B on the shift cover.Serial# isJSE-383269. The oval tag and transmission top serial# match. What does the (E) mean? Did they make juniors without twin power? just curious.Stratford

Post war 101s did not have the "B" position on the shifter, just a raised portion for the throttle lever. They were still called Twin Powers.

I was told that it could possibly stand for electic start. But the fellow who told me that was not positive.I would also like to know for sure what it stands for.

All Massey-Harris Tractors, meaning every 101 was
equipped with an electric starter. Sad to state, my humble teachers on early MH's, are deceased. I
believe e Bay has auctioned off any complete MH
library, manual-by-manual. Relying on my free advice, I have two to three answers that Alberta
Mike, a 101 expert, will accept. I hope you are sure it is an E, not a K, for kerosene. The E must
have lingered on, from engine upgrades, for one year,a 124, about 3 with a 140, the the 'hot' 162.
Twin Power was not a feature on all Juniors.
