Hello, I need to get some advice on a waterpump swap on a 372 perkins engine(basically a 354).I recently took a 372 out of a MF750 combine to use in a wood chipper. The water pump on the 372 did not have a fan on it and the thermostat outlet turned horizontal just above the pulley making the pump unable to take a fan even if the pulley had been drilled for it, which it was not. Anyway today I bought a waterpump off an 1100 Massey with a 354 in it. I also bought the thin cast outlet piece that is bolted just below the pump.A similar piece on my 372 just below the pump takes water from a hole in the front of the block and channels it up through the little hose back into the pump. The thin cast piece off the 1100 essentially blocks that water passage in the front of the block, though it still lets water from the jacket on the side of the block back into the pump via the same little hose. My question is will this set up off the 1100 be enough cooling for the 372? The other difference is that the pump off the 1100 has only one thermostat where as the pump off the 372 has two.The 372 will never be used as hard in its new job as it was in that combine. Thanks for your patience with this question any advice you have! YC
