I have recently purchesed a "Massey Harris Ferguson 35" I think.
It is a petrol engine, three forward gears, High and Low range.
the casting has MHF58 on it in places
The serial No reads SKM88842

I could use some tips on identifying exactly what i have.
Thank you very much for any information you can provide.
Nick

Your tractor serial number SKM88842, if correct, refers to a Coventry, England, built M.F. 35 from early 1958 ( serial Nos 79553 - 125068 ). S = standard width, K = petrol / TVO engine, M = dual clutch.
The tractor has the Standard Motors 23C 4 cylinder engine with 2 compartment fuel tank. The engine starts on petrol and when at operating temperature, the fuel is changed to T.V.O. The paint should be red bonnet and mud guards and grey for engine, gearbox and axles.See elsewhere on this site for the history of Massey Harris, Ferguson and Massey Ferguson.
