Hello all,

Does anyone on here know anything about a the French version of a Massey Ferguson. We have one that we think is a 39 MF built in 1965. Curious about parts for it. If parts are available. The 3 pt lift will not go up and down and the PTO does'nt turn. Anyone know what might be wrong with it?

Thanks for any info

Maurice

Maurice, If your tractor was built in 1965 it would have to be a "100" series tractor and they came as follows:- 130,French with 4 cyl Perkins, 132,German with 2 cyl Eicher,133,French with 3 cyl Perkins,139,German with 2 cyl Eicher, and of course the 135 built in the U.K.,the U.S.A.,Spain and France with a variety of engines. The French 130 has a fiter in the transmission under the pto shaft which might be wher your problems are coming from. Also the "8" in 825 denotes a French built model 25 as a "7" would indicate a U.K. built model, not 8 speed as Phil thought. Cheers, Ali.

I have not located a model 39 but imaybe you mean model 25, another name is 825[8 speeds/25hp], non working lift could be a stuck spool valve in the control valve body[ common if tractor has been sitting a while], PTo could be a clutch gone or the final drive gear has stripped it's teeth or shaft spline connection is damaged?. Put the PTO into ground speed position[fully forward] and watch if it turns when driving the tractor. This will check that portion of assembly. IF nothing happens anywhere, possibly even the PTO shifting fork has become dislocated internally.
Only quick suggestions that sound bad at present, but hopefully its a small situation.:)

PTO clutch? Yes, some versions of the 825 have a dual clutch.
