I am in the process of re doing my first tractor. It is a Massey 85. I am getting ready to tear into the hydrualics on it and was wanting to ask a few questions first. First of all, am I suppose to have down pressure on the 3pt? And, where would be the best place to start on my PTO. The ground PTO is working, but not the engine PTO. thanks for any info

NO down pressure on 3pt. Pto/steering pump is in the side of trans if the steering is working okay the pump is probably alright. The 3pt. pump is a 5-8 gal pump at 2200 psi. If you think the pto clutch pack is bad you will be able to look at the 3pt. pump and determine if the pistons and valves are okay after you split it. If you need help with any thing let me know.
