Splitting the tractor is relatively easy. If you have a floor jack and some sort of heavy dolly you can make up a platform under the oil pan and roll the front half forward when you get it loose. You can doi it with the floor jack alone, but I like the security of a dolly and some 6x6's. Try to keep the halves kinda lined up. It'll make your life easier when it comes to reassembly. The trick is getting it back together. You'll need a jack for the fronthalf, one for under the trans and a clutch alignment tool to get the two clutches lined up right for the pilot shaft of the trans to slip in smoothly. If the shaft hangs up, don't force it. Just engage the pto and turn the shaft slowly by hand to line up the splines. Don't forget to replace the throwout bearing and pilot shaft bearing too.

Also, get a couple extra long bolts the same thread as the ones holding the tractor halves together. Cut the heads off, and use them as pilot shafts to get the halves to slide together.

Yes, you need to block between the front axle and the front support to keep it from tipping. I always sawed some 2 x 4 in to a wedge shape & drove in there. If I can be of further help Email me
