I have heard a lot of comparisons that a model ??? industrial is the same as a model ??? farm. I just got a Massey Ferguson 2200 Industrial, can anyone tell me if it is identical to a farm model? And is there any differances between Industrial and farm? The only thing I ever heard was that the industrials have a heaver axle. Thanks for your advice.

Ramman,
There is a Massey Ferguson manual listed on ebay for your MF 2200 tractor. I bought a couple of manuals for my MF 135 from the same guy and they are better than anything I have seen before. It is listed as - Massey Ferguson MF 2200 Tractor Service Manual Item number: 3871422693

Some of Massey Ferguson Industrial tractor are just a version of one of the farm tractors but most do have a heavier front axle and sometimes different power steering system. The MF2135 & the MF20 are an industrial version of the MF135 the turf version of them are almost exactly the same as the MF135 only painted yellow. The MF2200 & the MF40 are cross breeds they have the same engine as the MF135 and usually one of the shuttle shift transmissions but they will have the differential and rear axles like the MF165 with the dry disc brakes and planetaries on the outer ends of the rear axle housing. The MF2200 turf will have the differential & rear axle housing with drum brakes just like the MF135. The MF3165 and MF30 is the industril version of the farm MF165 they have a heavier nonadjustable front axle and they usually have either the Manual shuttle shift or the Instant Reverse hydraulic shuttle shift transmission that the MF165 farm tractor does not have. The turf version of the MF30 has the same rear section as the MF135 & MF150 Farm tractors. The MF 50 & the MF50A have the same running gear as the MF30 but the sheet metal & steering is different on them.

What about the MF202 - is there a close cousin in the AG world?

Except for the non adjustable HD front axle and different hood the MF202 is based on the MF35 Gas. There was also a Utility MF35 that had the HD front axle/PS setup and the same hood as the Std MF35 (diesel and gas). don't know if there were any English versions of these tractors

The MF202 and the MF35 has the same engine and rear section. If your is one that has the straight 6 speed transmission it also would be the same. The electrical system is the same. Most everything else is different on the MF202 from the MF35 .

Good Stuff Big Dean!!!Hope you don't mind me adding the MF135 Orchard it has the solid non adjustable front axle and power steering that the MF20 and MF2135 had and the rear planetary axle that the MF165/MF175 had. Seems more industrial than AG.(really confused)
