I have a 1959 mf 85 with a continental 223 engine. I'm getting gas in my oil and some out the exhust. The firing orderin the book of 1342 it will not start and back fires, but the firing order of 1234 it will start and run at very low rpms. and only running on one or two cylinders.

Sounds like you"re off 180 degrees. Move the the wire for 1 straight accross the cap and do 1342 starting there.

I check for TDC and number one on the disributor cap. goning counter clockwise and my firing order is 1234 it starts, only will run at idle with full throttel. Will not start if I put the firing order of 1342 just back fires.

how long has it been since the tractor ran right? has distributor ever been fooled with? maybe loosen distributor and move it one way or the other as you crank it over, see if you can get it to fire on 1342.
