I recently repalced the cable for my tach. The tach is now working, however, the hour meter in not working. The dial all the way on the right turns, but the hours will not roll up. Any suggestions?

I purchased an hour meter for about $17.00 at the local auto parts store. It at least gives me a reference point for changing the oil. Took longer to decide where I would mount it than it took to install it.

Sounds like the tractormeter (tach) needs repairs. Try these places, they repair instruments, maybe they can help.
Bob's Speedometer, Michigan. www.bobsspeedometer.com

Speedometer plus, Los Angeles

Williamson's, Arkansas

Speedometer Repair Pro's

Galaxy Instruments

www.ddspeedometer.com (Minnesota)

North Hollywood Speedometer

These places fix instruments. They should be able to handle your tach. There should be one not too far from you. Hope this helps.

One shop (In Va.) gave me an approximate cost of 175.00 to fix the same problem on my MF245 tach/hourmeter. He said that tractor tachs are usually full of dirt... I do not know how much a new one is, but I hate to replace it with a new one. Mine stopped on 917 hours several years ago.

Look on the Bareco.com website. Mine cost about $65. USD before UPS and Canadian Customs got at it.

Hi Rod -

Very succinct comments about UPS and customs!

A&I has the English Vapormatic line, prices comparable with Bareco, and Canadian distribution to save that hassle.
