that the tractor has been gone through and everything has been rebuilt where needed. The fella that restored the 135 said that the hydraulics & tranny were fine, just some seals needed replaced, although he did put in a new clutch. New tires/rims allaround.I figure that the 135 will last me the rest of my life without much hassle. I'm being optimistic. I'm 55 and for what I'd do with it, I'd never hurt it. The other reason I want it is that's it has more HP than my Ford and it has live pto. Lastly, MAN IS IT PRETTY!!!!! The guy does an excellent job. His prices are steep, but around my parts, he's known for his quality work. He wants $6700. I figure my 640 is worth $4000, maybe $4200 on trade as it's in excellent shape as well. I'm not going to rush into it..... ....

$6700 US sounds abit steep. Does it have power steering? a loader? new paint job? Two Gassers sold at auction yesterday for $3000 each Canadian. "off the farm type machines" that worked, not pretty, tires worn, paint faded. Diesels around here sell for $4500 canadian. I have seen good professionally painted MF 135s go for $6500 can. Is the guy going to back you up if anything goes wrong. Did he change the clutch plate or whole pressure plate assembly? new tires are fairly expensive.
Hope I'm not being to negative. These are really great tractors. You could spend to much time trying to get the very best deal possible. If you trust the guy and you like what you see go for it! These machines are top rate and will work for a long time to come.

Everything is either............. in reply to GaryF, 01-25-2005 09:55:04
new or rebuilt, as needed. New tires/rims. Paint job is flawless. Engine has 2200 hours on it but runs fine or he would have rebuilt it. Same goes for hydraulics & tranny. The guy does first rate work.

Just to cover yourself do a Search on EBay Massey Ferguson. I have seen a few sell there and a number have Power Steering. Is it made in USA or UK? If that tractor sits outside choose a cold day to go over and try to start it see how it does. Will it come with tire chains? What size of rubber does it have? Sway bars? Maybe its an Orchard model that price would be good for one.
Another 2 cents!
