I've heard nothing but good things about the MF 35's and 135's. Do these tractors have a locking dif.? How about the 50's and 65's also? What price do you think a good one of these tractors might sell for?Which do you like better gas or diesel, and why? Thanks guys!

My '68 MF-135 has locking differential. It was an option.

The 35s had a locking diff available as an option. Mine doesn't have it but it sure would help with traction. But you can use the turning brakes for that. Just brake the spinning wheel. I don't know for sure, but I would think it was available on the 135s, 50s, and 65s. I think so because the 135s and 50s were heavier versions of the 35s.
As for gas vs diesel, mines a gas and I like it for it's quick starting, and simplicity for me to work on it. Diesels have more torque, and better fuel efficiency, but are more complicated, and cost more to buy and repair. For occasional use, the gas is better because diesel fuel will grow bacteria and algea if it sits too long. Gas will go bad too but not as soon. If my tractor's gas is getting old, and I'm not using it, I drain the gas out, and put it in my truck while it's still not bad, and put some fresh stuff in the tractor. But I always try to use it for something, anything. They don't like sitting around.
As for price, I've seen the 35s going for a wide range, $2500-$5500 depending on condition, and gas or diesel, diesel being more.

The diesels are more powerful by far. I always feel im overworking the older gas machines the diesels just keep purring. good luck Lou

My fathers 35 gas, 63 model year had the locking diff. Really helped in mud and snow.
