Just talked with the guy restoring the Pacer and we have a question or 2 you might be able to answer. The Pacer is a 1955 model and the brakes that it has are not the bands that appear in the parts manual. They are actually 2 v belts about a inch wide in a V groove in a pulley. You ever see such a thing? Normal?

Also the one brake pedal on the right side is slightly ahead or should I say leaning back towards the operator. That normal? I haven"t been on it in a year to remember.

I was hoping someone else would answer your question. What your friend has is a late pacer or one that has had the brakes reworked. The rear end in that tractor was a Clark unit. The last ones had the brakes {Clark called them Disk] you describ. I do not know where you would get parts. Tell your friend he needs to get a I&T shop manual {# MH-6A] and look on page 16.
