MH 44 Cracked Manifold

Has anyone has experiece with a cracked manifold on Massey Harris 44? I have heard that these manifolds usually crack where the intake tube meets the main part of the casting Is there a proven modification to the orriginal manifold that will stop it from cracking at the "Y"? Should I try to braze it or get a new one $200.00 plus gasket. By the way, I can't locate a manifold gasket either. Thanks for your advice
