ED nothing but 903s won't stand much lugging so don't slow the motor down too much .and there fuel hogs anyway.

You may want to consider doing two things before loading this baby up...
MF used the same differential gear size from the original 4800 design for all the later 4800 series and the 4900 series. You may want to check the gears and consider using the synthetic gear oils which are much superior lubricant to the organic based oils.
Most Cummins operators redo the crank bearings to ensure tight fit and good oil pressure, as the 903 loads the crank pretty good when she is topped out.
Keep her in good shape. As commodity prices tank, more of the older(but very good equipment) will become the norm in most operations.
Cheers

Ed, I was a Massey Dealer here in Arizona for 20 years. Sold lots of the 4800 series tractors. One of the best 4 wheelers for the day. Built tough to stand the southwest. Loved the 903. Pretty much a problem free tractor

Good luck with yours. You will love that cab!

Not bad machines drove 1 once and it was as good as 8640 JD and I bet the price is right. you won't ever want to step into a 2wd again after working ground with it once,no jarring teeth loose on rough ground good luck.

Drove it home today..

its an 1983 model-- sold finally in 1986 (the old dealer still knew the machine) everything still works on it.. unlike the 98Massey 8160 we have with 900hrs.. or the 92 3660 w/2000hrs...

we gave 16500 but the old dealer said it should have got it for 14-16,000.. oh well
