1. Ok got the tractor to run without choke on and after running for about 10 minutes noticed gas coming fron the crankcase vent and oil pumping out the dipstick. Shut it off and drained oil. It was like water and full of gas. How can this be with the up draft carb.
2. With the front end up (using the bucket to lift the tractor) it will steer with some what resistance.Drop it on the ground with the weight of the tractor and can not turn at all.

Thanks for all the help. Not sure if this tractor was a good deal after all!!
Thanks
Greghg

Boy, looks like a real baffler. Where does your PS pump run off of?. How long does it run til it pushes oil out,Does it lose hyd oil?. If you find out the glitch let me know so I can get some sleep. Good luck Jm

If the carb float valve did not shut off the gas, then gas might get up into the intake manifold and flow through the valve stems to the crankcase. You could check for this by removing the air intake from the carb to see if the valve is shutting off.
